Council of Black Leaders in Finance is proud to promote other nonprofit organizations focused on building community and developing talent across underrepresented populations.

AltFinance is a collective effort and cross-sector partnership created to tackle the root challenges facing diversity in the alternative investment industry. Established with the support of Apollo Global Management, Inc., Ares Management Corporation and Oaktree Capital Management, L.P. – which collectively committed $90 million over 10 years to the effort – AltFinance is working with nonprofit organizations and academic institutions to provide clear pathways for students at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) into careers in the alternative investment industry. The program provides access to education, training, mentorship, scholarship funding, internships and full-time career opportunities.

BWAM’s mission is to provide the tools and resources that enable Black women in the industry to thrive. BWAM engages with over 3,000 professionals globally. They are provided with opportunities to network, exchange knowledge and cultivate new relationships across the industry.

Founded in 2020, Colorwave is a 501(c)(3) focused on closing the racial wealth gap by connecting professionals of color with leadership opportunities at VC-backed startups. The organization locates high-potential professionals of color, conducts an eight-week program to help them understand the innovation economy, and then facilitates access to opportunities at high-growth companies. In doing so, their mission is to make sure all communities can access the wealth created in Silicon Valley and ensure the next generation of successful companies have diversity built into their core.

MLT is a national nonprofit that is dedicated to transforming the corporate landscape in America by empowering the next generation of diverse leaders. Individuals who have experienced inequitable access to career-accelerating resources, including of Black, Latine, and Native American individuals, should not just survive, but thrive. MLT’s programs for rising leaders span college through career providing the next generation with skills, coaching, and valuable relationships to accelerate their personal and professional trajectories. The organization also provides companies proven, efficient, affordable, legally durable strategies and programs for building meritocratic, high-performance workplaces.

The Toigo Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering diversity and inclusion in the finance industry by empowering underrepresented talent. Through a combination of leadership development programs, scholarships, and career advancement initiatives, the foundation equips minority students and professionals with the skills, networks, and opportunities needed to excel in finance and related fields. Their impact is profound, as they've successfully cultivated a pipeline of diverse leaders who contribute to greater innovation, representation, and equity within the finance sector, thus enriching both the industry and society as a whole.

The primary aim of Wall Street Friends is to strengthen the network of finance professionals of color. It started as a group of traders who met for dinner, and then posed the question “who else do you know on The Street?”
